Hi everyone! It's been a bit since I've blogged on here, I've been really into my school work and such. I'm happy to announce that I have my first book in the works, and hopefully it will be on Amazon by the end of the year. It will be called "Let me Grow". It's pretty much a collection of poems about broken heart healing from traumatic events. It's been a pretty tough but rewarding process to write all these poems. To give you all (whoever is reading) a sneak peek on my book, I'm going to put here the poem based on the title of the book, Let Me Grow.
Let Me Grow
I see the roots nestled in the ground,
and your palms.
They’re so strong--
tendrils rooted in every touch.
I can still feel them pulling me in.
Why won’t you let me go?
Your branches blossom,
but with no beauty.
They enwrap me, they trap me--
sticks burning in my soul.
I can still feel them pushing me down.
Why won’t you let me go?
Let these winter winds chip away
your damaging embrace.
So that this coming spring may
learn to let me grow.
